PureField Ingredients is investing significantly in rapidly growing wheat protein market
PureField Ingredients, one of America’s most trusted providers of food ingredients, announced today that it is expanding its production of wheat protein by 50 percent. The company is already the largest domestic supplier of wheat protein in the United States.
“We’re seeing tremendous demand from food manufacturers who want safe, affordable and high-quality wheat protein. By significantly increasing our capacity to produce local, traceable and sustainable wheat protein, PureField Ingredients is well-positioned to meet this growing market demand,” said Greg Thompson, CEO of PureField Ingredients.
Work began on the facility expansion in Russell, Kansas during the second half of this year. PureField Ingredients will bring the additional wheat protein capacity online in early 2022.
PureField Ingredients sells wheat protein under the Heartland brand name. A high quality, all-purpose wheat protein, Heartland is the preferred choice of many of the most iconic names in the food industry. Customers include leading manufacturers of baked goods, meat alternative products, and pet food.
“PureField Ingredients is proud to produce safe food ingredients made in America. With this investment, we are continuing to grow our core business and bringing new jobs to the Russell community,” Thompson said.
As the nation’s largest domestic producer of wheat protein, PureField Ingredients provides a dependable distribution channel that is not subject to international supply chain disruptions. The company uses locally grown grains that can be traced directly back to individual Kansas farms.
